“All men are equal, but some more equal than others”

George Orwell’s Animal Farm speaks to the corruption by leaders of the revolution during the events leading up to, and during the Stalin era before World War II and in addition addresses how immorality, lack of sympathy, ignorance, self-indulgence and shortsightedness corrupt well intentioned efforts. Importantly, he shows how potential ignorance and apathy to problems could allow horrors to happen! It is not the act of revolution itself that is flawed but rather it is dishonest, devious, fraudulent, unfair, mendacious leadership that is defective. As a consequence the Second Amendment’s good intention to protect the right of the people to keep and bear arms and to use that arm for traditionally lawful purposes has been corrupted by the evil intentions of some. This good intention is besmirched by leadership who has manipulated the system and the National Rifle Association who pays the piper and calls the tune as to the laws of the land, with regards to ownership and use of weapons. The result – Stand your Ground Law.

Can we not see parallels in this Trayvon Martin “turbulence”? A case that has brought to the fore the stinking smell of this Law, that supports the injustice that is rank and in this particular case where the law treats equal men with unequal brands of justice (or injustice)? Trayvon’s killing and the subsequent handling of the case is the representation of one of the numerous ills of this society.  The Pledge of Allegiance states “… with Liberty and Justice for all” It is apparent that “all” is for those who are categorized by leadership as those who are more equal than “the others”.

It has always been and more so now, politically incorrect for the leadership of this country to address the inequities meted out to blacks/women/minority population.  Individuals who would want to speak out publicly are afraid of those who will demonize their statement, causing them to appear evil and threatening in the eyes of those who are the “equal men”among us.  They would denigrate any such utterances causing a very distracting side-show and the main event of
addressing what now obtains - liberty and justice for some and suppression and injustice for those “others” go un-noticed and not addressed.  Somewhere lost in the pot pourri is the issue of equal justice for all, begging to be
addressed.

There are glaring iniquitous treatment of “more equal men”  versus the “less equal men”:
  1. Michael Vick was imprisoned for being a part of a dog-fighting ring and so he should.
Conversely, George Zimmerman is not even arrested for killing a human being!
Animals must be treated well and protected for even the mere fact that they are
helpless compared to human beings but this begs the question - are animans considered
        more important than some humans?

   2. Zimmerman’s  membership on a Neighborhood Watch team amplifies the serious
vulnerability with which communities are faced.  To include an individual in this team who  has
incidents of arrests and charges of resisting officer with violence and battery of law enforcement
officer, how and why in heaven’s name could he be permitted to carry a gun and given permission
to patrol neighborhoods looking for “suspicious”   persons when he himself has been proven to be
suspicious and an offender?  This in my opinion qualifies as keeping guns out of the hands of
those who exhibit mental instability and violence.

  3.  The multiple     serious offences committed by Zimmerman and law enforcers in Sanford, Florida having
upheld, diminished and caused to evaporate each of these offences speaks volumes and confirms that
for whatever reason, he is one of the equal men and Trayvon falls in the group of the
       “less equal than others” category.

George Zimmerman saw a young black male, a “f*****g c**n”, an automatic criminal when he saw Trayvon Martin.  That is what society has taught him to see and he carried out his atrocity as he is taught to do, knowing full well that the laws will protect him since these “not equal person” must either be in prison, in the virtual prison of post-incarceration or dead.

“Liberty and Justice for ALL?” This phrase is suspect under these circumstances.

Super Tuesday Primaries went SPLAT !!! It came and went without fanfare although the candidates and their
surrogates were trying their best to boost up the ante. The only thing we in the stands could hear from the cheerleaders was “Give me a Y… Give me an A…. Give me a W  and Give me an N!!!     … ..“Y - A - W - N”

And so it is with the GOP presidential candidates with just about everything they touch and try to sell to the public.  Iran for example stands out as one suchThe candidates continue to show how clueless they are…or is it just that they are playing to the anger of their far right base that hates the guts of the President…or is it that they are trying to play the fear mongering card…or are  they just engaging in bull excreta talk..or…?  It’s all of the above!!!

“Republicans are trying to scare votes by fear mongering over Iran, but the president won’t have it.” says Col. Lawrence Wilkerson, former chief of staff at the State Department during Gen. Colin Powell's term on the EdShow on MSNBC last evening March 8, 2012. Even those who should be sympathetic to the GOP cause are so embarrassed they are compelled to come out with the truth and at the same time disassociating themselves from the folly – First Lady Barbara Bush included. Col. Wilkerson further said of John McCain (who I for one would have hoped we could trust his judgment on matters of war) that McCain knows only fighting from the air so his solution to bomb can only be limited to his experience and is certainly not the answer.

Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, recently said “war with Iran is not inevitable”. Any person with a modicum of intelligence would take this as a sign that there is hope that cooler heads will prevail and avoid war at all cost. Diplomacy, given the chance, will work. Not so with Republicans.

Let's not forget that the Republicans are beholden to the Military Industrial Complex. Their collective naivety and lack
of foreign policy experience and knowledge come shining through. We once again see them cowering to their mouth piece, Rush Limbaugh. Do we have to wonder how strong (wimpy, weak, timid, unassertive, ineffectual) any of the remaining four might be if they become the President and face adversity  which they must? They show no vision nor put forward any viable solutions for dealing with Iran. I join our adult President in inviting them once again to be bold and say to the American people that they want war.  As he rightly stated "those folks don't have a lot of responsibility -- they're not commander-in-chief."

Have they thought of the cost in lives  of the men and women who fight or the cost to the country’s budget?  I will ask a question of them:  “will they on this occasion be willing to support a draft and put their children’s lives where their mouths are?  Gov. Romney and Senator Santorum are you willing to send your children to fight this Iranian war. Speaker Gingrich you cannot contribute to this… can you?
Having considered these questions, and I am sure irrespective of whatever comes out of your mouths, your gut answer will be“Hell no!!” then please shut the hell up!

Gov. Romney, Senator Santorum, Speaker Gingrich you are not cute. There are only two beings in this world that are cute  – animals and little children… Which are you?

And it came to pass in those days, where the Grand Old Party
continued to rip each other to shreds and stopped at nothing to out-rightwing
(or out crazy) each other. One week is a lifetime in politics. We have eight
months to go before the big show, which will be on the first Tuesday of
November 2012. The four remaining pretenders to the throne argue over social
issues exclusively while clearly, the electorate is concerned with economics –
the ‘bread and butter’ issues. It’s still the economy stupid!!! …. And the
Presidential candidates continue to fiddle while the Republican Party burns

Haven’t the Republican Party learnt from their 1964 electoral trouncing?
Not unlike the current Tea Party wing, it saw the advent of the fringe rightwing
movement coming into their own and they all but alienated moderates and
independent voters. Fear mongering  and divisive wedge issues that meant nothing
was the order of the day.  Today America is leaning more leftward  and they have
experienced “Trickle Down Economics” which is a miserable failure and have come to
understand  that “Compassionate Conservatism”are empty words. When will they wake up and smell reality?
  -  religion  has no place in politics? If these gentlemen want a Theocracy, I suggest they  migrate to Iran.
  -  The  Woman is the backbone to every Society, the cradle of  civilization. Women comprise a  sizeable
chunk of the American electorate and dear Senator Santorum, Governor   Romney, Speaker Gingrich
and Doctor Paul women vote and contrary to your   thoughts they are strong-willed, self respecting
and determined beings. But   apart from thinking of the votes you might be losing, I cannot but wonder about
the acceptable norms within your individual and family culture, cult or   religion that you can all denigrate
women with such nauseating ease as you do.
The disrespect, disregard,  contempt, rudeness, impudence and effrontery that spew from you and your
surrogates lead me to believe you just “happened” upon the  face of this earth,  so you have
no mother, no grandmother, no wives, no daughters, no sisters, no aunts and no nieces.

Or tell me… within your culture are your women expected to be subservient and know and keep
their places.. Doing only what the men dictate they do?
With this GOP onslaught on Women’s Rights
–reproductive and other rights, please don’t cry  when you experience a total electoral bloodbath as women
come out to vote in  record numbers against Corporate and Republican fascism. And by the way,
I will  not say “I told you so”.

The American people are getting back their spirit as the economy  is doing better.
The economy is on the road to recovery although the GOP continues to block progress daily and minutely.
Pardon me, but it is not only  the presidential hopefuls who are fiddling but the GOP is fiddling and they do
not care one iota if (Rome) the country burns. And fueled by the total collapse
of common sense and pragmatism within the GOP, it would burn, but for the sound
policies and proper oversight of President Obama and his  Administration.

Verily I say unto you both believers and non-believers - the GOP side show will
continue right through into the main event in November and we will see the
results. America will prevail. Selah!
